Municipal Liability (MTA): $240,000 Settlement
MUNICIPAL LIABILITY
Partner Jason Linden obtained a settlement of $240,000 on behalf of the estate of a woman who was struck by closing NYC Subway doors causing her to fall out of the train and onto the platform.
As a result of the fall, our client sustained a fractured hip that required surgery and a lengthy hospital stay. Unfortunately, the client passed away less than one year after the accident so we could not claim future losses.
Still, Mr. Linden was able to show the defendants were negligent in their operation of the subway door and that ultimately caused the client to have one year of pain and suffering.
